Revolutionary War painting in Guache. I think I'd call it Rising Sun, or Whites of Their Eyes or something like that. Its not totally original, the guys are copied from a picture and the sunset is similar to a picture I have. But I thought the sunset turned out nicely. I just read 1776 and was thinking about the sacrifices of the early Americans so I wanted to do something related. It would probably be a good teaching aide.
we are watching the HBO documentary about John Adams, literally just finished disc two, two seconds ago, and I am gaining new respect for Colonial times as well as the war for Independence. Anyway, this is awesome, I like how you used the different colors on their coats. What picture did you copy it from? I have been thinking about doing a painting that looks medieval, but then is about missionaries or something. Like a medieval styled painting about missionaries today...what do you think? keep painting !
